In traditional Chinese symbolism, the bat is associated with good fortune, blessings and happiness, as the word for bat, fu (蝠), sounds similar to fu (福), meaning good luck or blessing.
The simple handwoven cord keeps the focus on the natural crystal and carved form, giving the piece a distinctive handcrafted character.
